A good quality, oil resistant, compressed asbestos fibre jointing. Although widely used in the automotive industry, 81 can also be used in an extensive range of other duties. These include steam, water, gases, alkalis and many chemicals in addition to oil and solvent applications

An economy grade compressed asbestos fibre jointing.

Service

Suitable against steam, water, gases, air, alkalis and many chemicals.

Temperature

Recommended maximum 380°C (720°F).

Pressure

Recommended maximum 2.8 Mpa (400 lbf/in²).

Colour

Red or Graphite finished.

Typical Properties                   

1.5mm (1/16 in) thick.

Tensile Strength with grain                23.5 Mpa (3000 lbf/in²).

                                   Across grain  8.4 Mpa (1200 lbf/in²).
